Undergraduate students can earn an Animal Behavior Certificate through the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. The Certificate consists of nine hours from selected courses (see more details below)
Requirements
The Certificate in Animal Behavior consists of 9 hours selected from the courses listed below. At least 3 of the credit hours used to satisfy the requirements of this certificate must be unique with respect to their minor, major, or another certificate program.
Complete 9 credits of coursework from the following list:
- Animal Science 490 Animal Behavior and Welfare [3 credit hours]
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology 450 Comparative Animal Behavior [3 credit hours]
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology 459 Comparative Animal Behavior Laboratory [3 credit hours]
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology 482 Animal Care Internship [2 credit hours]
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology 489 Avian Field Methods Internship [2 credit hours]
- Psychology 301 Foundations of Behavioral Neuroscience [3 credit hours]
- Psychology 310 Learning and Thinking [3 credit hours]
- Psychology 370 Evolutionary Psychology and Ethology [3 credit hours]
- Psychology 454 Animal Communication [3 credit hours]
And/or a maximum of 3 credit hours from:
- Ecology and Evolutionary Biology 400 – Undergraduate Research
